I am the Deputy Medical Superintendent of Dow University Hospital and the supervisor of Dow International Medical College's patient welfare organization called DIPCA (Dow International Patient Care Association). This student run organization is primarily responsible for funding needy patients to get some if not all of their required medical testing done within a set individual budget on a case-by-case basis. The funding was obtained through a combination of personal donations of students and their families and a series of fundraising events (headed and facilitated by DIPCA's executive board members and its voluntary representatives).
I am writing this letter at the request of Mr. Usman Qamar. He was a 2015 graduate of Dow International Medical College and held the title of president within DIPCA from 2012-2015. Usman was an active and vital figure in this organization. He helped to plan and participated in the following events during his tenure in DIPCA:
* 3 charity dodgeball tournaments
* charity basket ball tournament
* charity pizza sale
* charity bake sale
* Ramadan ration packages
* Sports Week stall (proceeds to charity)
* charity brunch
* cancer awareness wristband sale
